Teen Challenge Global Headquarters
When moving to Columbus, Teen Challenge chose a historic structure in Downtown Columbus to be their global headquarters. Because of Webb and Teen Challenge's previous successful construction history, Webb was chosen as the design/build general contractor on the project. Webb used the assistance of local architects and engineers to perform a complete renovation and adaptive re-use of two attached 100+ year-old cotton warehouses. As part of the project, Webb identified and proposed excavation to lower the basement floor and provide an additional 3000 sf.
Webb transformed the empty and deteriorating warehouses into high-end executive office space. Significant changes were required to adapt the building. Restoration of exterior brickwork and inter post and beam framing were required. Throughout construction, historical guidelines had to be followed. Webb was recognized by the Historic Columbus Foundation and won awards for the Teen Challenge project. The buildings have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
